The American System
At Asseddiq, the American curriculum prepares students for university entrance in Egypt and other regions of the world. It focuses on the development of each student as an individual and capable learner, not just on subject content and exams.
Teachers enable each student to learn as much as possible, considering different learning styles.
Students experience multiple learning opportunities, and teachers use methods beyond exams to assess progress. Daily attendance and participation are necessary to benefit from the American system.
The American curriculum uses American textbooks and resources. Students are also prepared for SAT exams to meet local and international university requirements.
Tardiness
A student is tardy if entering the classroom after 8:15 a.m. This is recorded and parents are notified. After the 3rd tardiness, the student will serve after-school detention.
Tardiness of more than ten minutes without excuse means the student cannot enter class and it counts as an unexcused absence.
Attendance
At least 90% attendance is required to complete accredited hours for each subject. Otherwise, the student is graded (I) for "Incomplete" and must retake the subject in summer.
If absent, the parent/guardian must contact the school and provide a written note upon return.
Excused Absence:
One-day illness: Written excuse signed by parent.
Long illness: Sick leave approved by a doctor and sent to school before return.
Travel: Copy of passport departure pages required.
For long illness or travel, teachers will assist with make-up work.

Coming late to school.
Social events with friends.
During exams or written assignments.

Parent / Teacher / Administration
Regular meetings are scheduled once a quarter, but parents and teachers/administrators can meet as needed.
Parents are urged to attend meetings and stay in touch with teachers and administrators.
